Folks know AFFION CROCKETT as the Internet sensation whose dead-on impersonations of DRAKE and RUSSELL SIMMONS have garnered over 39 million YouTube views. But who is Affion really?
Juicy chats with the funny man to find out. - KWELI I. WRIGHT
On What Inspired Him…
When Def Comedy Jam was like a real hot commodity, that’s when I first saw hip-hop comedians that I could relate to, as opposed to EDDIE MURPHY… he was like a rock star to me. I was a fan, but I never thought I could do what he did.
How His Mama Helped His Career…
My mom is from Trinidad & Tobago, so I was always doing her accent, my aunt’s accent…that’s how I learned to do voices and characters. If I could make my mother laugh, then it was a wrap for everybody else.
On Being a Hip-Hop Junkie…
When you see me as CHRIS BROWN or DRAKE or rappin’ like JAY, I do all of that. I’m a rapper too, so I know how to write and do all that good stuff. I’m an East Coast head all day when it comes to hip-hop.
On NICK CANNON…
I’m happy for him. I’ve seen him grow literally since he was a teenager and just to see where he is now: the father, the mogul… I’m always proud of NICK.
Who’s the Funniest Female…
My perfect female comedic match? I don’t know. [Laughs.] I mean who’s a silly female that’s really funny… As far as a celebrity, I’d say TRACEY ULMAN, as far as a skill set. She’d be my match.
On His Impersonations..
Ninety percent of the guys [I’ve imitated] have complimented me from JAY-Z to RUSSELL SIMMONS. DRAKE loved it…for the most part they all reached out. CHRIS BROWN is a fan. He came and did my show… I make fans of these guys because I don’t try to disrespect them. I try to make a funny situation and keep it movin’.
Earlier last week DMX confirmed that the RUFF RYDERS will be reuniting for a nationwide tour.
In a recent interview with TMZ, he stated that the group is working on their comeback and currently booking venues for the tour.
Not all the members of the RUFF RYDER camp have been confirmed as yet, however, SWIZZ BEATZ, DRAG-ON and MURDA MOOK are down to ride. Now, that’s how it’s going down.

The drama with Basketball Wives stars EVELYN LOZADA and JENNIFER WILLIAMS keeps on rolling in!
Yesterday Juicy gave you the scoop that Basketvball Wives reality star JENNIFER WILLIAMS is claiming that her friendship with NENE LEAKES is the real reason why EVELYN is not speaking to her.
Well, that statement didn’t fall on deaf ears. And in true EVELYN fashion, she went awf on Twitter about her former best friend. She tweeted,
“So @iamjennifer thinks I’m MADD that’s she’s hanging out with @NeNeLeakes ??? Bitch pls! Interview coming soon…. #ItsOnContacts Tired of this heffa constantly running her mouth to remain relevant! @iamjennifer Let’s talk boo! You will never WIN!”
But wait, EVELYN really goes for the jugular when she said:
“ @iamjennifer No matter how long u walk around with those purple contacts, u will never be a white girl! #InsecureAss”
Ouch – another diss about the color contacts? That’s gotta sting. To our surprise, EVELYN’s fiancee CHAD OCHOCINCO swept in and saved the day. He spit some sense into his feisty woman with this tweet,
“@EvelynLozada Do not send another tweet out if it’s not positive”
CHAD seems to be the only one that can convince EVELYN to act her age and not her shoe size. We wonder how many others CHAD has saved from getting chewed out.
And by the way, if JEN is a white girl for wearing colored contacts, is EVELYN the same for her fake blonde hair? Think about it.
A comedic WATCH THE THRONE tour? CHRIS ROCK and DAVE CHAPELLE are putting together a dual-headlined tour, similar to KANYE and JAY-Z‘s WATCH THE THRONE tour. [TaleTela]

STAR JONES and BARBARA WALTERS have made amends. Well, kinda, sorta. THE VIEW announced on Wednesday that their ex-cohost will be appearing on the show on Feb. 22. [Huffington Post]
Singer CHRIS BROWN is back on the map with a brand new dance track called “Turn Up The Music.”
The high energy, euro-pop-inspired track is taking CHRIS way off the path from his original R&B roots.
The track will appear on CHRIS’s upcoming album Fortune, a follow-up to the album F.A.M.E.
Critics speculate that CHRIS’s music is transitioning from R&B to techno, and we’re not so sure Breezy’s original fanbase will be feeling that. Are you?
Listen to the track below…
Anyone who is a fan of the VH1 reality show Basketball Wives knows that ex-bestfriends EVELYN LOZADA and JENNIFER WILLIAMS are not on speaking terms.
However, JEN has just revealed in an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine that the real reason EVELYN ain’t feeling her is because she’s friends with NENE LEAKES.
In the interview, JEN stated, “Let me tell you what she’s mad over ‘cause this always comes up. She hates the fact that I’m really good friends with NeNe [Leakes], and she hates the fact that me and Mashonda are good friends. I feel like it’s all coming from a place of hurt, and she’s turning it into anger. Why do you care who I’m friends with? Like, that’s ridiculous”
She continued saying, “I’m kinda over it because I just feel like I’m at a point at my life where I’m trying to get rid of negative energy. To me, I feel like it’s something so minuscule. It’s not like I slept with Chad. It’s not something irreparable. It’s something stupid that you’re mad over. If you really are mad because I have other friends, I think that’s completely ridiculous.”
If true, it’s all so 3rd grade.
NeNe hasn’t put her two cents about EVELYN’s hatred on Twitter yet, but just you wait (grabs popcorn).
On Tuesday, Hollywood and its creative forces received word on whether or not they’re in the running for a little gold man next month.
For many, it was a celebratory occasion while others felt they were snubbed. Unfortunately, QUEEN MARY J. BLIGE was a part of the latter, and had no problem venting her frustrations about it.
MARY’s song “The Living Proof” was an original song for the film The Help and she had high expectations of The Academy nominating it in the Original Song category.
However, when she found out it didn’t, she took to Twitter…
“I’m so thankful for true fans like you all. It saddens me & feels like the Academy is being mean. 2 only nominate 2 of the 5 slots is . . .”
She continued with supportive retweets written by her fans and a link to an article discussing The Academy being biased when it comes to music.
Is Mary rightfully upset or should she let this one “slide?” Tell us what you think!
We know that at one point in time tweeting naked twitpics was hot in the tweets, but 50 CENT is taking it to another level.
High off his luck, from last week Giants win, the rapper is placing a million dollar bet and a challenge to a Patriot fan @MyBestAssests.
50 promised his female follower not only if the Patriots win, will he be out of a a million dollars, but all of the Twitterverse will be able to get a picture of his private parts, …er, magic stick.
If the reverse happens and the Giants lose, @MyBestAssests will have to show her …well, assets (and face) for all to see.
Talk about high stakes, it looks like we have something more than Superbowl commercials to look forward to this year!
The last we heard about the SMITHS, JADA allegedly had hired a divorce lawyer and their marriage was coming to an end.
However, now that may not be the case.
It is being reported by NY Daily News, that the couples company Overbrook Entetertainment has plans to join American Idol judge SIMON COWELL, and Sony Pictures for a new business venture in reality tv.
JADA (who seems to have her hand in this more than her husband WILL), and SIMON COWELL announced their collaboration on the show DJ Superstar in hopes of finding the world’s best DJ.
“We have been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people. As soon as I met Jada and Miguel [Melendez] from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners. DJs are the new rock stars. It feels like the right time to make the show,” COWELL told the NY Daily.
“This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent,” PiINKETT-SMITH said in a statement.
The partners will soon announce the show’s U.S. and U.K. broadcasters, said the announcement.
