It hasn’t even been two days since his death and people are already talking about who will get DON CORNELIUS’ money.
According to TMZ, reports say hi ex-wife will be getting a good chunk of it.
Documents obtained by TMZ claim that the The Soul Train creator had two health insurance policies, and in his 2009 divorce settlement, there was a regulation that required that CORNELIUS’ ex-wife VIKTORIA CHAPMAN CORNELIUS be made the beneficiary of both the policies.
California law constitutes that if the person holding the insurance policy commits suicide within two years of it being administered, the insurance company can refuse to pay.
In this case, being that the policy was issued almost 3 years ago, his wife will be awarded the $300,000 in benefits.
While going through his divorce CORNELIUS stated “I am 72 years old. I have significant health issues. I want to finalize this divorce before I die.”
So sad.
Looks like former NBA star ALLEN IVERSON is no longer a baller or a shot caller.
In 2010 Georgia Jewelers Aydin & Company filed a lawsuit against the former 76er for failing to pay a bill for $375,000 in jewels.
IVERSON never acknowledged the suit, so an automatic judgement was made in the jewelry company’s favor for $859,896 covering the cost of court, the unpaid for jewelry, as well as the attorneys. With the ball in his court, again IVERSON failed to pay up.
As a last resort, earlier this month the judge decided to garnish IVERSON’s wages in order to pay off the debt.
“Damn homie in high school you was the man homie, f*ck happened to you?”
This would make the third time model SELITA EBANKS and BET VJ TERRANCE J have been linked as a “couple.”
Page Six now reports that the two were caught this week at the ALICIA KEYS produced play “Stick Fly,” where attendees spotted them boo loving.
Once source told Page Six, “They left holding hands, and she looked like she was going to a movie premiere, in a long black skirt and black studded Louboutin stilettos.”
Last year, BANKS and J were frequently spotted at industry events together, and this year the two were inseparable at the reopening of JAY-Z’s 40/40 club.
Friends or “friends”? Time will tell…

From wide receiver for the San Diego Sabers to host of sports TV show, The Pitts Stop, Jason Pitts (COBY BELL) went through it all during the first four seasons of The Game.
Known for his excessively frugal tendencies, audiences nation-wide wondered if the “over-aged” football star would make it after his bitter divorce from ex-wife, Kelly Pitts (BRITTANY DANIEL). It is with deepest regrets that we report the death of DON CORNELIUS today.
The Soul Train creator was found in his California home around 4 a.m. this morning with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. As of now, reports from The Los Angeles Police Department state that no signs of foul play were found at the residence.
DON was born in Chicago and started his early career as a journalist and radio personality. In 1971, he was granted the opportunity to work with a local television station in Chicago and created the Soul Train show which aired live on weekdays.
He served as the writer, producer and host of the show until its 22nd season in 1993. When he stopped hosting the show, he continued to handle behind-the-scenes operations and signed various entertainers to host the series until its final season in 2006.
Soul Train is highly regarded as an instrumental force in showcasing and popularizing African American music and holds numerous accolades for its success.
Don Cornelius will be truly missed. We are keeping his loved ones in our prayers and wish nothing but “Love, Peace and Soulllll.”
Doesn’t matter how long R.KELLY goes on a hiatus, when he returns he knows how to put out good music.
