Beauty Trends: Samantha Black Spring 2013 NY Fashion Show!!!

Although burgeoning designer SAMANTHA BLACK, showcased a sassy collection with a classic futuristic twist for her spring 2013 runway show, she took it back to the basics when it came to beauty.

Juicy was granted backstage access to witness BLACK’s team of beauty professionals create magic. Serving major face with lavender-brown smoldering eyes, pouty nude lips, FRANK GUYTON, creative director of Black Opal Beauty revealed the beauty inspiration for the show.

“Samantha Black was very adamant about what she wanted—she had a vision,” GUYTON says.

He continued, “The look was a throwback to the 1950’s, and we wanted the focal point to be the subtle, smoky eyes, so we kept the eyes very bold with a strong brow and nude lips because we didn’t want anything to combat each other.”

To achieve the sultry, natural look GUYTON recommends first applying Black Opal’s Invisible Blocking Oil Powder after applying foundation to the T-zone area. To achieve a similar strong eyebrow, this GUYTON suggests using Black Opal’s eye brow kit, along with Black Opal’s Espresso Brown eye kit; and add color starting at the base of the lash line, blending into an “ombre” effect to create a soft brown smoky eye.

To complete the sexy look perfect for day or night, GUYTON advises to add eyeliner in Black Opal’s signature black with a touch of clear lip gloss. – EBOYNE’ JACKSON
