Damone Roberts: The Bleached Brow Therapist!!!

Just a few week ago, we viewed stunning shots of  gorgeous models strutting down the runway sporting great fashions for New York fashion week. With an even closer look, we saw more than a few designers choosing  to bleach models brows to complete the fashion forward trend. Instantly looks were taken from basic to “boo-yah,” but when it comes to bleach brows is light really right?

DAMONE ROBERTS, known as the “Beauty Brow Therapist,” is an internationally renowned makeup artist, with two brow salons in both New York and Beverly Hills.

He caters to the beautiful brows of A-list celebrities including ALICIA KEYS, VANESSA WILLIAMS and BEYONCE. A few years after he opened his his first brow salon, he launched his signature brow collection, and it became a fav amongst beauty editors.

With sights set on a full makeup line and signature fragrances, Damone Roberts is well on his way to building a brand that signifies true beauty for women around the world.

Juicy spoke to ROBERTS about his thoughts on brow bleaching. Here the brow expert gives his expert insights on the right way to bleach your brows.

Juicy: What are some of the things women should think about before lightening?

Damone Roberts: They should avoid lightening their brows no more than two shades lighter than the current hair color.

Juicy: What colors should African American women avoid?

DR: None! Just be careful of products with too much titanium dioxide because they tend to go grey on African American skin. Gold and purples are the best, but again, there are tones in every shade that work on African American skin.

Juicy: Does face shape play a part in the result?

DR: Yes, the shape should complement the shape of the person’s face. A rounder face should have a higher arch to add length to the facial structure. A square shaped face should have a rounder brow to soften the facial features. An oval face can carry an eyebrow not too defined and not too round but right in between. Lastly, a heart shaped face should have a straighter brow to lessen the length of the face.

Juicy: What to do to fix an at-home bleach job?

DR: The easiest quick fix is to apply a tinted brow gel!  This applies color to the hair and is a temporary means of covering the bleach.

Juicy: What is the maintenance process for a bleached brow?
