Then & Now: Silkk The Shocker

New Orleans Native, Vyshonn King Miller, a.k.a. SILKK THE SHOCKER, rose to stardom in the late 1990s with his debut single, “The Shocker.”

Little brother of  southern superstar rapper MASTER P, SILKK was determined to make it after being noticed for his collaboration with his big bro on “Make “Em Say Uhh!”

However it was his own hit off of his album Charge it 2 Da Game  It Aint My Fault, featuring label mate MYSTIKAL in 1998 that garnered the most attention and eventually became his most well-known hit.

Silkk has since went on to work with MYA, DESTINY’S CHILD,TRINA, and many other artists. He’s  released two solo albums, My World, My Way,in 2001, and Based On a True Story in 2004, and although neither release generated the same publicity he enjoyed in the late 1990s, the last album managed to sell very well.

SILKK released his first mixtape called All I Do Is Win on August 21, 2010, narking SILKK’s return to hip-hop. Now confirmed that SILKK signed with his nephew ROMEO’s new record label, No Limit Forever, SILKK and will be working on his return album called “Unfinished Business” which will be released in 2012.
