Actress ANGELA BASSETT traded in the bright lights of Hollywood for the peace and serenity of Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

Snapped while vacationing with her two children, Slater and Bronwyn, BASSETT and company appeared to enjoy their stay at the Villa La Estancia Riviera Nayarit.

When the actress wasn’t hitting the beach and the pool with her kiddies in tow, BASSETT was spotted getting pedicures with her daughter at the Tatewari Spa.

While BASSETT’s husband, COURTNEY B. VANCE was noticeably absent from the trip, the mommy-and-me vacay gave BASSETT some intimate time with her children before her schedule took a hectic turn with the premiere of her role on the third season of FX’s American Horror Story set to debut this fall.

How fun! I’m actually trying to take a vacation with my kids to Ottawa… Does anyone know about Ottawa hotels downtown? Are they good?

  • Earl Judds

At the spa? I would be all day at the pool. And special service I would be getting. I would just keep ordering food and drinks. No spa for me!

  • Aaron Banks

I think they would enjoy the pool service down there. That was my favorite part of my vacation.

My wife would love to go to a swim spa. Does anyone know how much that would cost?

  • Shelly Slader

That’s nice that she didn’t have them in child care and took them on a vacation with her. I bet they need lots of one on one time since she is so busy.

This looks like some pretty top-notch child care right here!

  • jimstout7878

Also, I have heard that the spas there are way nice!

I wonder if she chooses a hotel by their hotel linens? That is a pretty big deal for my wife. She doesn’t like when the hotel linens are not soft at all.

  • Earl Judds

This looks like an awesome hotel. I would love to stay somewhere like this.

I loved the fall season of American Horror Story! Angela did an amazing job, that vacation really did it’s job. I want to take my husband for a relaxing experience like that, just to get away and relax for a week. I don’t know if Mexico is what we’re looking for, but I’m hoping to find a nice place to stay in Australia. Fingers crossed! http://www.victoriainnforbes.com.au/about-us

I would take a trip to nice hotel before a heavy work schedule as well. What part of Mexico is Nuevo Vallarta? I have always wanted to visit Mexico and eat some real Mexican tacos. http://travel.pickmytrips.com/templates/445717

Bob, did you get a chance to see the beautiful patio furniture? It’s absolutely breathtaking. I would love to find a good company that can sell me some great patio furniture. With nice looking patio furniture, it’s like being on a vacation everyday in your backyard. http://www.patiogalleryofnaples.com/

I completely agree with you Sam. That was probably a really nice hotel. Maybe one day I can sneak my family away there. We could really use a nice vacation. http://www.edsonguesthouse.com

I think the best child care program is a vacation. My kids are almost done with vacation and they are so sick of school at this point that they just need a little break. We don’t need to go to Hawaii or anything just get out of town.

It is really good that she is spending time with her children. life can get pretty hectic for famous people. I hope her kids really enjoy the time. Especially staying in such a nice hotel! http://www.burleighmechanics.com.au/services

Well, it looks like they’re having a good time. We’re planning to have a beach resort vacation. That won’t be until next year, though. This year we’re just planning it! Thiago | http://www.islandbeachresort.net

I need a vacation, I think. It’s been a long time. But my next one will be really great, I’m sure of it.

I agree Anita, I also need a vacation. I want to go someplace out of the country & someplace with great food. Sometime’s finding the right place to go can be difficult, I’m glad there’s the internet to help plan. I’ll want to find the right place with the right hotel. http://www.windsorlodge.com.au/location.html

I agree, it has been almost a year since I have gone on a vacation, and I am really getting burned out with work. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford to go to Nuevo Vallarta anytime soon, but a get away to Williams Lake would do just fine. There are so many fun things to do around there. http://www.bestwesternwilliamslake.com/en/rooms_and_rates.html

It is great that Angela has been vacationing with her kids. I hope that she finds some time to relax with them always around. I know kids can be a lot to handle sometimes.

I would love to jump in a pool right about now. Beaches are nice, but if I had to pick I’d go for a pool every time. I don’t think anything’s nicer than floating in a pool that you own, with maybe a drink or a book. Or both.

That’s one of my favorite TV shows. It’s good that she got to relax before that one. It was pretty intense. I like to treat myself to a hot tub every now and then. We’re thinking about getting one for our backyard. http://www.dolphin-pools.com/?page_id=2710

It is always so strange when you run into celebrities in the real world. While in Canada last summer, I saw James Rodey crossing the street in front of my hotel. It would be cool to run into someone else famous at a hotel this summer. http://www.Canadasbestvalueinn-princegeorge.com

It’s so wonderful to read about parents giving their kids a break from day care, and taking them on a nice vacation. Angela has always been one of my favorites, and even more so after reading this. She’s such a wonderful mother!
