Since the death of WHITNEY HOUSTON in early February, reports buzzed that the creators of Sparkle have been working tirelessly to get the film edited and ready for theaters this August.
Now we get to see that hard work in the film’s official trailer.
Sparkle, a remake of the 1976 film entitled by the same name, stars the late HOUSTON who passed just three months after production was finished.
Based on the story of three sisters who sing together during the Motown era in Detroit, the film also stars JORDIN SPARKS, TIKA SUMPTER, DEREK LUKE, CARMEN EJOGO, and CEE LO GREEN.
The film is HOUSTON’s last on-screen appearance and will be dedicated in her memory. Sparkle premieres on August 17th.
