The Harlem rookie went into Battle Two over the weekend with rapper LIL’ KIM, to explain that the real reason there’s discord between her and veteran rapper KIMBERLY JONES.
It all started when BANKS took to Twitter and sent out subliminal tweets about a female rapper she admired that upset her for being petty and not wanting to work with her.
Although it wasn’t clearly stated who “hurt her feeling,” Twitter pointed to LIL KIM who she unfollowed shortly after sending out the tweet.
Instead of KIM responding, KIM’s camp sent out an official statement to address BANKS’ comments, and shut down rumors that the their was any “friction.”
“[Hip Hop Icon Lil Kim] and Azealia have NEVER spoke to one another or met AT ALL. … it’s so hard to understand how someone who claims to be a true Lil Kim fan could flip the script so easily on someone who was supposedly their idol.” KIM’s rep stated.
This didn’t sit well with BANKS, and she decided to tweet out her grievances.
“True tea is that Lil Kim got mad that I wrote a verse for her on a record I wanted her on. Everyone knows Lil Kim doesn’t write her own raps and I saw this as a faster more efficient way of getting the track done,” BANKS explained on Twitter.
She continued, “She then had her assistant write me some long ass offensive email about how Lil Kim writes her own raps and doesn’t need anyone’s help.”
She ended her rant with, “All this extra shit is stupid. Keep closing your own doors ma. @lilkim There is no beef. At all.”
