Celebrities Show Love For Frank Ocean Coming Out!!!!

After FRANK OCEAN released a letter on his blog detailing his relationship with a man, who would eventually become his first love, people from all walks of life hit the internet by storm in support of the singer, especially celebrities.

Pioneering hip hop executive, RUSSELL SIMMONS released a blog entitled, “The Courage Of Frank Ocean Just Changed The Game.” SIMMONS’ discussed how moved he was by the courage and honesty of Ocean, while he hopes that OCEAN’s courage gives “hope to so many people who are living in fear.”

Rapper, JAY-Z, published a lengthy thank you letter written by hip hop journalist, DREAM HAMPTON on his blog. In “Thank You, Frank Ocean,” HAMPTON discusses her admiration of OCEAN’s “great courage and beauty and the fearlessness” in him coming out. HAMPTON also brought up an interesting point in her letter that many people overlooked. She stated that Ocean’s letter “is about falling in love and feeling rejected and carrying both that love and rejection with you through life.”

R&B singer, SOLANGE KNOWLES took to twitter to show her support, tweeting,”I salute you, brave soul. Independence Day.”

OCEAN’s mother KATONYA BREAUX RILEY, beamed with pride as tweeted, “I wish more people in the world could be brave enough to be who they really are. Thank you to all who have shown love and support. My son is the most incredible human I know. Honest, true and loving. We appreciate you!”

Although FRANK OCEAN’s fellow ODD FUTURE members are well known for their “homophobic” and “misogynistic” lyrics, they tweeted their support of dear friend.

TYLER THE CREATOR started out by making a joke about OCEAN coming out by tweeting, F*****g Finally Sus Boy @frank_ocean Hahahaha, You Still Aint Got No B*****s Hahaha My N***a Dawg. He got a little more serious and tweeted, “My Brother Finally F*****g Did That. Proud Of That N***a Cause I Know That S**t Is Difficult Or Whatever.”

Radio personality MISS INFO was another supporter of OCEAN’s decision to come out as she tweeted “a part of a hip hop collective, #frankocean has made a historic courageous move that’ll outlive any closeminded backlash.”

With lots of love and support from friends, family, and music colleagues we can only hope that this encourages other celebs to embrace the freedom that “coming out” brings forth.
