RANDY JACKSON has confirmed that he will no longer be a judge on American Idol.
For a while there had been much speculation surrounding JACKSON departure, and whether or not he would do the show in some capacity.
JACKSON has been a judge since the show premiered in 2002, and according to TMZ may continue to function on the show in the role of a mentor.
“Sources connected to Idol tell us… there’s some concern among the brass that Jackson is not well-suited for the mentor role… but they feel they need him because he’s the glue that helps keep the show together.”
Now that the number of judges this upcoming season has increased from three to four, figuring out who will join MARIAH CAREY on the panel still remains uncertain.
