The 29-year-old actor made a name for himself on his hit Disney show that aired from 1998-2001 but dropped out of the spotlight to attend USC School of Cinematic Arts. After graduating with honors, YOUNG decided to give acting another shot and found gigs in films and sitcoms like, Friday Night Lights, Scrubs, Smallville and most recently Rizzoli & Isles.
News of YOUNG’s apparent suicide hit the blogosphere and was eventually confirmed as TMZ reported that YOUNG’s body was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he failed to show up on the set of the TNT show, Rizzoli & Isles.
YOUNG’s publicist soon released a statement regarding his tragic death that said, “It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning … Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed.”
We here at Juicy, send our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and friends of LEE THOMPSON YOUNG.
