Black Hair Documentary: ‘In Our Heads About Our Hair’…

It’s no secret that the topic of African-American hair has been, and still to this day, remains a very controversial issue in the Black community.

And if you enjoyed the concept of CHRIS ROCK’S well received documentary Good Hair, then be prepared to embrace the message behind the newest black hair film, In Our Heads About Our Hair.

Directed by HEMAMSET ANGAZA, the documentary explores the serious, yet humorous issues black women deal with regarding their hairstyle choices, self-esteem, and cultural acceptance.

The film premiers February 20 at the BAM’S New Voices In  Black Cinema film festival in Brooklyn, NY.

We hope In Our Heads About Our Hair, has the ability to open the eyes of black women, men, and children yet again to the significance that black hair plays in our communities, both positive and negative.
