Last week, hair aficionados attended Mizani’s The Spoken Word 2013 hair trend event hosted by KIM COLES at the L’oreal Beauty Academy in NYC.

Created to highlight and celebrate the individualism of the ever-growing natural hair movement, The Spoken Word featured poetry and artistic expression by poet, ABYSS, while COLES encouraged attendees to embrace their natural hair textures.

From neatly styled dreads to tightly oiled fro’s and curls, models rocked fierce hairstyles showcasing the diversity and versatility of natural hair with a choreographed Bronner Bros. hair show flair.

Delicious appetizers and hors d’oeuvres paired with tunes from celebrity DJ, AMANDA SEALES, set the mood for an informative and unique take on uplifting and promoting healthy hair, regardless of its texture.
