Beautiful Curls is a part of the Alaffia skin care line that is based in Togo, West Africa and it creates Certified Fair Trade hair products. The products are made for all curl types and fall under three main categories—Curly to Kinky hair, Wavy to Curly hair and Babies.

Using pure, unrefined shea butter, Beautiful Curls’ products are also infused with coconut oil, calendula extract, vitamins and minerals. The company’s Curl Enhancing line is ideal for hair types that are loose and wavy, and the Curl Activating line works best with kinky and tightly-coiled hair.

Aside from curling shampoos and conditioners, the line makes a defining gel, sculpting wax and curl activating creams.

The shea butter used in all of Beautiful Curls’ products is handcrafted by a cooperative of women in the Sokode village of Togo.

The great thing is that proceeds from all sales are returned to Sokode where they are used to supply bikes for its citizens and create housing and community programs.
