It went down last Friday night at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theater as R&B singers CARL THOMAS, MARIO, and the fellas of JAGGED EDGE performed their latest and greatest hits during the R&B Resurrection Tour hosted by 107.5 WGCI’S CHRIS MICHEAL’S and DJ PHANTOM.
Celebrating and reminding the audience that R&B music is in fact not dead, Juicy was backstage to capture each of the fellas as they reassured the intimate crowd of females on stage that a good men still appreciates good women.
CARL THOMAS kicked off the concert with some of his most memorable hits like “I Wish,” and “Summer Rain,” from his debut album Emotional.
It was Baltimore singer MARIO, who had the ladies running to the stage to get a closer view of his grown-up swag. Dressed in black denim, retro boots, shades, and a white button down opened slightly enough to see his sexy abs, MARIO saanngg! With hits like, “Just A Friend,” “Let Me Love You,” and the crowds favorite “Break- Up,” MARIO brought down the house.
R&B vets JAGGED EDGE closed out the tour with an super energetic performance. Taking it back to their So So Def days, JE harmonized popular hits from their albums A Jagged Era and J.E Heartbreak. Then left the audience on ten after rendering an encore performance of “Where The Party At.”
One things for certain, for those jaded R&B fans, who believe R&B no longer exists, that night R&B lived!!!
