“Shattered in a Split Second” is a must read page turner, I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a heart-throbbing true-account of survival; she says “only through the grace of God.” The writing was so illustrative that I felt as if I were there. I cried and I laughed as I shared in her journey. I was elated how the family stood tall amidst life trying moments. The story is just unbelievably powerful and definitely a must read for all mothers, fathers, syblings, young people etc. The faith this women possess is truly amazing. This account will resonate with me forever. Kudos to you Vanessa Richardson Bagby… Great job!

Shattered in a Split Second is an inspirational book that will touch your soul. The love of a mother and the ordeal she had to face broke my heart. I couldn’t put the book down, but at some point I had know choice. I cried, laughed, praised God and cried somemore, and than read some more. What an asset to my life, my faith is so much stronger, now that’s a powerful book. May God continue to bless you and your family. For your story has truly blessed me. Wonderful book Vanessa looking forward to the next one.

I have read this book three times and each time I am overwhelmed with this story of triumph. I would recommend that not only mothers but women in general read this book. I am looking forward to meeting Vanessa Bagby at the Sister to Sister Expo in October. Everyone who reads this book should recommend it to someone else. There are too many books written by people of color that say nothing. This book says clearly that even though there is adversity in the beginning there is triumph at the end.
