WILLOW SMITH premiered the video for her new single, “I’m Me,” over the weekend.

However empowering and liberating the song may be, at 11-years old SMITH’s pursuit of self discovery and self acceptance seems a bit premature.

We’re not sure how free one should be at 11 years old, but it seems that SMITH has it all figured out.

Last night celebs pulled out all the stops at the 2012 BET Awards hosted by SAMUEL L. JACKSON to make it one of the most memorable BET has seen in years.

A-listers JAY-Z and BEYONCE, who are normally missing from the sea of Black faces at this award show, sat front row and offered the world to view some rare PDA moments.

Right next to the hip hop power couple, sat KANYE and his flavor of the month KIM KARDASHIAN, who more than provided the source for some of most shady moments of the night.

NICKI MINAJ, FRANKIE BEVERLY and MAZE, and USHER rocked the house with their performances, and D’ANGELO for his first televised performance in over 10 years. And of course, no the awards wouldn’t have been complete without paying homage to the late and great WHITNEY HOUSTON.

Celebs like DRAKE and RIHANNA were noticeably absent from the show, and a few awkward moments had us giving our TV sets the side eye.

The 2012 BET AWARDS opened with a bang, as KANYE WEST and his G.O.O.D MUSIC label mates BIG SEAN, PUSHA-T, and 2 CHAINZ  performed their hit single, “Mercy.”

After wrapping up his single, “Way Too Cold,” WEST spit a minute and thirty second long freestyle, reminiscent of his College Dropout days, before he literally dropped the mic on the BET stage.

Last night we were glued to our televisions, as the who’s who in Black music, television, sports, and movies came together to celebrate the 2012 Bet Awards.

While some of our favorite celebs were dressed to impress, we know that no look is complete without having you hair laid.

Hair trends like long curls, buns, low ponytails, and a variety of short ‘dos were a big hit among our favorite celebs last night.

High temperatures didn’t stop Juicy girls like MONICA, WENDY RAQUEL ROBINSON, and MARIAH CAREY from making sure every hair was in place, but it may have played a small part in Juicy favorites MELANIE FIONA and KERRY WASHINGTON completely missing the mark.

Over the weekend actorEDDIE MURPHY and BET 106 and Park host ROSCI DIAZ confirmed the rumors of a budding relationship while making their first red carpet appearance together.

The pair attended DEBRA LEE’s pre-BET party in Los Angeles, holding hands and holding each other much of the night.

The two began a whirlwind romance in May spotted on vacation together in Hawaii earlier last month.

By far, the WHITNEY HOUSTON tribute was one of the best moments of the  2012 BET Awards.

MONICA kicked it off, , as she opened the  tribute with a soulful rendition of WHITNEY’s, ” I Love The Lord,” followed up by BRANDY  with an high energy filled performance covering, “I’m Your Baby Tonight” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”

However it was Nippy’s mother, CISSY HOUSTON left both audiences at home and in the venue in tears with the classic hymn, “Bridge Over Trouble Water.”

CHAKA KHAN ended things on happier note closing   the tribute with an upbeat performance of “I’m Every Woman.”

RICK ROSS the “bawse” can breathe a bit easier, now that he is not the father to the child that Tyrisha Childers claimed to be his.

ROSS’ paternity lawsuit has been dropped after a DNA test proved he was not the father three-year-old child.

ROSS was adamant when the news first broke that he was not the daddy, willingly offered to take a DNA test to dismiss the case.

Guess Childers thought ROSS “looked like a bag of money…”

Former NBA player ERIC WILLIAMS, the now ex-husband of Basketball Wives star JENNIFER WILLIAMS, is being sued by a woman who reportedly had a secret child with him while he was still married to JEN.

TMZ reports that the baby was conceived in 2011 while WILLIAMS was still married to the reality starlet, and when the news broke in 2010, JENNIFER denied having any knowledge.

However WILLIAMS’ new baby mama, claims that the former baller has been negligent in the financial support of his 8-month-old son, and addition to requesting support that WILLIAMS also cover the boy with medical insurance.

Sources close to JENNIFER say JEN still can’t believe ERIC fathered a child behind her back. Neither ERIC or JENNIFER have yet to comment

Last night R&B singer, USHER, and his bright a$$ sneakers, proved that his voice gets better with age while performing his hit single, “Climax.”

While USHER proved he’s still got it, D’ANGELO‘s highly anticipated performance of “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” and “Sugar Daddy” left us wishing he brought it harder, or a least got a stylist.
