Who is ROCKIE FRESH?

Hailing from the windy city of Chicago, ROCKIE FRESH, provides a “fresh” new twist on what hip hop can be. Mixing in a bit of alternative rock, ROCKIE’s inspired form of hip-hop is being embraced by many.

In 2009, at the ripe old age of 18, ROCKIE FRESH released his debut mixtape, Rockie’s Mordern Life, and shortly afterwards, the up-and-coming rapper premiered his followup mixtape, The Other Side in 2010.

After garnering a buzz around the Chi-town area, FRESH was given the opportunity to perform at the Babmoozle Festival in 2011, alongside some of the biggest names in rap and rock music including: RICK ROSS, TWISTA, BIG SEAN and JOSH MADDEN of GOOD CHARLOTTE.

Upon meeting MADDEN, FRESH was then introduced to the rocker’s brothers BENJI and JOEL and ultimately appeared on several songs with the band. ROCKIE FRESH’s music was then noticed by the rock group, FALL OUT BOY, and eventually toured with the group in 2012…

So apparently REEBOK couldn’t handle the criticism they received for supporting RICK ROSS as an endorser for the brand after his highly controversial lyric in the song, “U.O.E.N.O,” that glorified date rape.

REEBOK has since fired ROSS, and removed their affiliation with Maybach Music Group’s frontman.

“Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so,” Reebok told TMZ.

ROSS has issued an apology via Twitter and through an official statement, but REEBOK like many activists and rape survivors are not going for it.

REEBOK continued, “While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones sexual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse.”

Rappers just might start watching what they say…

Shortly after being featured on the ‘New Classics’ issue of Vibe magazine, MIGUEL and KENDRICK LAMAR released, “How Many Drinks,” remix.

The first collaboration between the two artists, “How Many Drinks,” remix is a flirty and fun track where MIGUEL and LAMAR try to determine what it will take for a certain someone to go home with them.

In a very unlikely series of events, the White House has officially released a statement regarding JAY-Z‘s new song “Open Letter.”

During a White House press briefing, press secretary JAY CARNEY clarified the claims made in JAY-Z’s newly released song.

CARNEY stated,”I am absolutely saying that the White House and the President on down had nothing to do with anybody’s personal, anybody’s travel to Cuba. That is something the Treasury handles.”

Questions regarding which federal department authorized the superstar’s travel clearance to Cuba arose after Hov rapped, “I turned Havana into Atlanta…Boy from the ‘hood, I got White House clearance…Obama said ‘chill you gonna get me impeached.’ (But) you don’t need this s*** anyway. Chill with me on the beach.”

Since when did the White House start publicly analyzing raps with President OBAMA mentions?

Last night Elle magazine hosted it’s fourth annual, Women in Music Celebration at the Edison Ballroom in New York city.

LALA ANTHONY, JUNE AMBROSE and JESSICA WHITE were several of the prominent attendees at the star studded event celebrating the women who are making great strides in the world of music.

New couple alert. Rapper BIG SEAN and actress NAYA RIVERA, hit the red carpet hand in hand adding fire to rumors of their new relationship.

Talk of a potential romance between the G.O.O.D MUSIC rapper and GLEE actress, hit the ‘net after they attended several events together, including SEAN’s 25th birthday bash.

BIG SEAN’s relationship with RIVERA comes months after he confirmed that he had something special with a girl from his hometown.

KENDRICK LAMAR, 2 CHAINZ, SOLANGE KNOWLES, MIGUEL, WIZ KHALIFA, A$AP ROCKY and a slew of others are slated to perform at the two day music festival held in Philadelphia, PA.

Curated by rap royalty JAY-Z, it was also announced that his wife BEYONCE will also join the number of performers to take the stage during Labor Day weekend.

Last year, Made In America brought out some of the biggest names in music, entertainment and even a prerecorded message from President BARACK OBAMA.

Budweiser’s Made In America Festival 2013 is set to take place August 31st and September 1st at Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, tickets gone on sale April 17th.
