A while back we mentioned the ALICIA KEYS produced Broadway play Stick Fly,’a play about two brothers who chose to  introduce their girlfriends to the parents on the same weekend,  causing sibling rivalries to flare, opinions to clash, class distinctions todivide and family secrets to unravel.

Yesterday KEYS along with director KENNY LEON and writer LYDIA R. DIAMOND hosted opening night performance on Broadway at the Corte Theatre in NYC.

To show support TARAJI P. HENSON, TRACEE ELLIS ROSS, PHYLICIA RASHAD, and husband SWIZZ BEATS all were in attendance.

JANET JACKSON was seen yesterday on the last leg of her  ‘Up Close and Personal’  Tour at Fillmore Miami Beach in Miami Beach, Florida.

‘Up Close and Personal,’ is the sixth concert tour by MS. JACKSON.

Described as her “largest world tour”,  the show is in support of her second compilation album, Number Ones. The tour ranked 45th in Pollstar’s “Top 50 Worldwide Tour (Mid-Year)”, earning over 15 million dollars

Celebrities came out to support the LBGTQ’s community annual Trevor Project’s 2011 Trevor Live held at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California over the weekend.

The Trevor Project, an organization determined to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources, honored LADY GAGA and boasted performances and appearances by MARY J. BLIGE, FERGIE, ZOE SALDANA, RASHIDA JONES, and AMBER RILEY.

Members of the SIMMONS clan were out in full force over the weekend.

UNCLE RUSS along with his niece ANGELA SIMMONS, and ex-wife KIMORA LEE all attended the 3rd Annual ‘Change Begins Within’ Benefit Celebration presented by The David Lynch Foundation held at LACMA in Los Angeles, California.

KIMORA’s hubby DJIMON HOUNSOU and DAVID GEORGE were attendance as well.

NICKI MINAJ was honored at Billboard’s Sixth Annual Women in Music Event held in NYC over the weekend.

Wearing an unusually long blonde crimped weave, and way too much makeup contouring and highlighting, MINAJ was named Billboard’s Rising Star of 2011, and accepted her award that evening with tears in her eyes.

“Oh my God, I didn’t write anything to say,” said MINAJ, “I’m so incredibly grateful and thankful for my Barbz… These kids are my world… I want them to know they are capable of things their minds can’t fathom. Barbz, I love you so much for being by my side for such a long time.”

MINAJ also thanked TAYLOR SWIFT who received a woman of the year award, along with ROBIN ROBERTS who conducted her on site interview during the awards.

The United States’s premier contemporary art fair kicked off its tenth-anniversary edition yesterday with a heady mix of pricey works, a throng of collectors, along with a sprinkling of celebrities.

Held at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Florida, in attendance were NAOMI CAMPBELL, PHARRELL WILLIAMS, and DIDDY (who snagged a Tracey Emin wall sculpture for $71,000).

So DIDDY had enough money to buy a sculpture, but not a new jacket?

Last night the 2011 Victoria Secret Fashion show aired on CBS with a special performance by rapper NICKI MINAJ.

Although the show is deemed to be one of the sexiest nights on television, MINAJ went for a more playful look when performing her hit single, “Super Bass” off her Pink Friday album.

She kept the crowd and models in good spirits, and even looked like she had creative input in the Vicky Secret Pink line being showcased.

Atlanta’s music royalty took a trip down memory lane, renting skates and hitting the rink on Thanksgiving Eve as DeVyne Intervention presented Roll Over Hunger: Celebrity & Charity Skate Jam.

Held in Atlanta’s historic Cascade Skating Rink, the Roll Over Hunger event allowed Atlanta’s A-list to join forces with the community and have some good old- fashioned holiday fun, all in the name of helping the less fortunate.

Celebrities in attendance included: CIARA in a wheelchair, LUDACRIS and his boo EUDOXIE, BIG BOI, TOYA along with daughter REGINAE and hubbie MEMPHITZ, DIAMOND, and more.
