Hosted by REGINA KING and TRACEY ELLIS ROSS, the filming of the 2012 Black Girls Rock awards commenced yesterday at NYC’s Paradise Theater in the Bronx.

Black Girls Rock awards created to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of African American women in music, acting, fashion, and philanthropy, featured some amazing performances from ALICIA KEYS, BRANDY, and CIARA featuring MISSY ELLIOTT.

KERRY WASHINGTON, SUSAN TAYLOR, DR. HAWA ABDI and her daughters, JANELLE MONAE, and DIONNE WARWICK were among the honorees of the evening.

The two hour long premiere of the 2012 Black Girls Rock awards is slated to air on November 4th on BET.

Last night the stars came out to celebrate the 8th Annual Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards presented by Hennessy V.S at Webster Hall in NYC.

Roc Nation’s newest resident RITA ORA was in the house chatting up Bad Boy singer CASSIE VENTURA and Canadian songbird MELANIE FIONA.

MMG rapper WALE was also in the house along with model JESSICA WHITE, NYC HOT 97′s MISS INFO and singer ESTELLE made an appearance.

Guests sipped on specially made Hennessy V.S. cocktails, and were seen enjoying the performance of Paper Magazine cover star, Ellie Goulding.

Newcomer MEEK MILL celebrated the upcoming release of Dreams And Nightmares last night at The Electric Lady Studio in Greenwich Village NYC.

Hosted by Hot 97′s ANGIE MARTINEZ and D’USSE Cognac, JAY-Z, RICK ROSS, WALE, football player DESEAN JACKSON, THE DREAM, ESTELLE, VICTOR CRUZ, and surprisingly fellow Philly rapper WILL SMITH were in attendance the listening party for MEEK MILL’s debut album.

Dreams And Nightmares hits stores October 30th.

Earlier this week, RICKEY SMILEY, premiered his newest television project The Rickey Smiley Show, a sitcom showing the plight of SMILEY, the radio personality, working to balance being a single father and maintaining a career.

The Ricky Smiley Show airs tonight on TV ONE at 9 pm.
